a. Voting is voluntary

comments: It is not mentioned in the law but it is a legal principle to be able to exercise the right to vote without any restrictions.

LF05. Are there provisions in the law which permit or require regional and/ or local election (s) to be held on the same day as national elections?

a. National elections are not held on the same day as regional or local elections

comments: It is not mentioned in the law, but in practise it is not possible to hold different elections on the same day for security reasons.

LF06. Are there provisions in the law which permit or require presidential election (s) to be held on the same day as national legislative elections?

a. Presidential elections are not held on the same day as national legislative elections

comments: It is not possible to hold presidential and legislative elections on the same day as the president is elected by the National Assembly.

comments: In each district there are registration committees and high registration committees for the approval of the registration of voters. The decisions taken by the the registration committee may be appealed in front of the high registration committee.
